About Us

The Oaktree Foundation UK is an international development organisation run by youth, for youth.

We empower young people through education to make lasting change in their communities.

We believe in the need to facilitate mutually enriching partnership between young people in the UK and young people across sub-Saharan Africa: equipping them to learn and work in partnership to  create lasting change.

Our founding idea is a simple one: fighting disease and poverty requires the participation of a new generation of young leaders, in developing nations and in Britain. And this work is done best by youth and for youth: young people across the world supporting each other and making a difference.

The Oaktree Foundation is a Christian organisation that welcomes people of all faiths or no faith, who share Oaktree UK's core values, to join with us in achieving our mission. Whilst the motivations of those at Oaktree UK and the reasons why we share these core values may differ, we are united behind a common mission to empower developing communities through education in a way that is sustainable.
