The Oaktree Foundation (UK): Get Involved with Charity

Get Your School Involved

There are three key ways you can get your school involved in the work of Oaktree:

  1. Inform and Inspire:
Oaktree has a team of passionate young leaders who can speak at your school about the work of Oaktree and how you can take action to see real and lasting change in our world.
  2. One Day:
run a fundraising event to raise funds to support Oaktree's projects in Rwanda.
  3. Oaktree group:
through our innovative schools program, get your school to become part of Oaktree's ongoing work whilst having great fun and gaining equipping skills and experience. Through setting up a social entrepreneurship group in your school, leading local advocacy campaigns, and holding large fundraising events for Oaktree's projects your school can create a lasting impact.

In September 2009 we will be launching our Schools 4 Schools initiative which provides students with the opportunity to make a

difference in a unique, challenging and very real way by partnering British secondary schools with schools in the developing world. We will be looking to begin discussions with schools about becoming part of this program during the 2008/2009 academic year.

For more information about getting your school involved, and to request a speaker, please contact our Schools Team. Please note that at the moment, speakers are only available in the Oxfordshire and London area.

Get Your Church Involved

The vision is to mobilise young Christians to respond in faith to issues of poverty and injustice.

We are growing a network of church cluster groups across the UK. In each diocese we will partner groups of three to four churches together to enable young Christians to join together in the work of Oaktree to help the poor. Through a well-resourced program, these young people will be able to fundraise and advocate in their church communities through a greater understanding of the issues facing developing countries.

To get your church or youth group involved, contact our Church Team.

Over 25? Become an Oaktree Mentor

Oaktree is an entirely youth-run organisation but we recognise the enormous contribution that can be made by people of any age.

As a result, Oaktree has established a program through which people over the age of 25 have the opportunity to act as mentors for key leaders within the organisation.

While it is the volunteers who set the direction for Oaktree and run the organisation, we rely on the support of a dedicated team of mentors, who offer their experience and expertise.

If you are interested in mentoring an Oaktree leader please contact us.
